About Me

Welcome to my digital home.

This space is a reflection of my journey — shaped by the complex, often invisible realities of immigration through the lens of war. Alongside this journey, I share knowledge on career transitions, learning and development, coaching, and an ongoing path of personal growth.

As a de facto refugee, I stepped into a world that felt like vast, unpredictable waters - like a kook in the surf caught in unfamiliar rip tides, I struggled to find balance, belonging, and breath all at once.

But this experience, raw and humbling, became its own kind of classroom for me. The one where resilience, adaptability, and reinvention weren’t theories — they were my essential survival tools.

Each wave I faced taught me not just how to stay afloat, but how to grow, guide, and inspire others in their own journeys of transformation.

This space is a tribute to that commitment — to the quiet victories of rebuilding, to the strength of a Growth Mindset, and to the beauty of not just starting over, but starting forward.

My Story
Hello, I’m Olga.

I was born and raised in Melitopol, a small city in the Zaporizhzhia region often called the cherry capital of Ukraine.Melitopol is also known as the gateway to Crimea, located close to the shores of the Sea of Azov.
For the last 20 years, I lived in Kyiv, in a cozy apartment with my sons, building my career, nurturing my writing ambitions, and planning my professional endeavours.

In 2014, russia* annexed the Crimean Peninsula. That year, I was pregnant with my youngest son. To say it was frightening would be an understatement. But like many Ukrainians, I held on to hope — hope that the russians would stop there.
Today, we all know: they never will.

In 2022, during the full-scale invasion, they seized my hometown too. Melitopol remains under russian occupation to this day.

Among my many passions, writing has always held a special place.

I’ve been writing since my early youth — prolifically, passionately, and with unwavering inspiration. Yet always for myself. As I moved through my life, balancing personal journeys, studies, and work, my writings remained tucked away in drawers and in the corners of my mind, patiently waiting for their moment to see the light.

Motivated by my passion for Learning and Development I began actively sharing my professional insights on Facebook in 2018. Drawing on my experience in leading international companies, where I built learning systems from the ground up, I expanded my HR network in Ukraine and strengthened my reputation as a Talent Development expert.

I hold two Master's degrees — one in Foreign Language Teaching and another in Psychology — and I am also a certified Emotional Intelligence Trainer and Organizational Coach. Now I’m working toward my CCDP.

In 2022, when russia launched its full-scale war, I was forced to leave my home, taking my kids and mother with me. We fled the country, leaving behind everything I had carefully built over more than 20 years in Ukraine. Until then, immigration had never been something I seriously considered.
During this period, I realized I wanted to write not only about my professional work but also about the profound experiences of refugees — those who have had to abandon everything to escape the horrors of war.

In this, I find both meaning and purpose today.

We live on the Atlantic shores of Nova Scotia, Canada. I carry with me a unique journey marked by survival, migration, and the challenge of adapting to a new homeland. This transition was made possible primarily thanks to the incredible people I met along the way — and I will always be deeply grateful to them.
My project management expertise became a defining part of my identity. A commitment to structure, systematic approaches, and process-driven learning has fueled my growth — both professional and personal.

Here, you’ll discover my reflections on topics close to my heart: designing impactful Learning and Development systems, navigating career transitions, insights from life within international corporations, realities of involuntary migration, and the profound effects of war. Each subject reveals a part of my journey and lessons I’ve gathered along the way.

I offer individual consultations, corporate learning programs, webinars, and other events — both online and in person.
You can find all the details in the Services section.

At one of the last international companies I worked for, I was honored with a certificate for demonstrating a Growth Mindset — a recognition that deeply reflects who I am. This mindset isn’t just a professional asset; it’s a way of life. My writing mirrors this philosophy: a dedication to nurturing talent, driving meaningful results, unlocking human potential, and cultivating inner resilience.

I believe that conscious practice is the foundation of mastery, and that
talent lives within everyone — waiting to be seen, supported, and developed.

Sometimes we struggle to recognize our own potential. That’s when a trusted and supportive guide — whether a mentor, friend, or coach — can illuminate what’s already within us and reveal the strengths we hold, inspiring growth and the pursuit of our fullest selves.
People tell me that my texts inspire them, and that my story motivates them.
I hope that within these stories, you’ll find what you’re seeking today — and feel empowered to follow your own aspirations.

Thank you for being here.
August 2025.
*Ukrainians write “russia” and “russians” in lowercase because we believe a terrorist state does not deserve the honor of a capital letter.
